University of Maryland University College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (267-284-5000), one of the six regional accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. UMUC is governed by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents and certified by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

Program Accreditations
UMUC's Master of Business Administration program is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), PO Box 3960, Olathe, KS 66063 (913-631-3009).

Admission Requirements:
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
  • High school diploma or completion of General Education Development (GED) examination. GED with a total score of 225 and no individual test score below 40 (for tests completed before January 2002) or a total score of 2250 and no individual test score below 410 (for tests completed after January 2002).
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher on all college-level coursework completed at other regionally accredited colleges and universities.
  • A completed and signed application and payment of $50 admission fee.
  • Graduates of U.S. college or university automatically qualify for admission.
  • SAT is not required.
Graduate Admission Requirements
  • For master's degree and certificate programs most applicants who have graduated from a regionally accredited degree-granting university or college are eligible for admission.
  • Transcripts are required, but Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores are not required for most programs.
  • Executive Programs require five years of management experience in addition to the above.
  • To be eligible to apply for the doctoral program, student must have a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale before the application deadline (or permission of the department) and at least seven years of professional experience.
  • A completed and signed application and payment of $50 admission fee for master's programs and $100 application fee for the doctoral program.
